The 2024 federal government rankings are in, and the list of the worst hospitals in Arizona continues to not surprise. According to the federal quality scores, the worst hospitals in Arizona are:
- Abrazo Scottsdale Campus
- Abrazo West Campus
- Havasu Regional Medical Center
- Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital
- Valley View Medical Center
- Tucson VA Medical Center
Arizona routinely is named as one of the worst states in the country in terms of quality healthcare. Making that problem even worse, though, is the fact that these hospitals do not seem to be doing much to remove their scarlet letters. In fact these hospitals received grades of C or lower in the previous several years, as well.
As medical malpractice and wrongful death numbers continue to rise in Arizona, the question residents must ask is, “When will these hospital chains do something to improve healthcare here?” As physician assistants and nurse practitioners continue to be given more duties and responsibilities that they are not qualified to handle, the unfortunately answer to the question remains, “Not anytime soon.” Until the hospitals do something to effectuate change, Arizonans will continue to die at unnecessarily high rates.
