On October 24, 2024, Snyder & Wenner attorney Brian Snyder was named the Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Arizona Association for Justice. Brian was honored with the award for his amazing work, in general, but also for the $31,550,825 verdict he obtained in Griepentrog v. Banner Health. In that case, two nurses at Banner UMC Phoenix repeatedly violated the Banner Health Pitocin safety policy, and continued to administer the drug despite the warning signs on the fetal heart tracing. They also failed to advocate for a c-section when it was clear that baby Greyson was experiencing oxygenation issues. Due to these failures, Greyson was born essentially lifeless, sustained a permanent brain injury, and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Banner refused to take responsibility for what they did and chose not to make any offer to settle the case prior to trial. After a one month trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict against Banner.
